Hi Tom,
I'm Having issues with the external feed hold button connected to kflop
and mach3. The Problem being that the feed hold activates in the middle of a cycle even when its not depressed, pressing cycle start activates the axis ,then 3 seconds later it feed hold again.
Using Externalfeedhold.c bit 35.

Regards
Goran

Hi Goran,

The obvious thing would be noise.  Is it always exactly 3 seconds?  How is it wired?  Perform some experiments to isolate the cause.  Change to bit46 (a kflop LED) and turn the LED off.  Does the problem go away?  Disconnect and ground the input.  Does the problem go away?

Regards
TK

Hi Tom,
No its not always three seconds, sometimes its .5 second sometimes its 10 secs. Its connected to winford breakout board from J6,MPG is connected to same BB and having no issues at all.
I've connected the 3.3v out from kanalog directly to switch then back to bit 35 . The system is grounded well.
Tryed kanalog input 142, But i get buffer starve in mach every time I depress the feed hold.
? where do i pin into the LED on kfop.

Regards
Goran

Hi Goran,

Only the first 8 IO on JP4 and JP6 have  150 ohm pull down resistors. IO35 does not so when the switch is open the pin will float and not necessarily go or stay low. Use an IO with a pull down resistor or add one.

The idea of the IO 46 LED test was to use an internal signal that would be unlikely to have any noise while leaving everything else the same just to prove a point. The LED signal does not come off the board. So you couldn't actually use it for your switch.

I don't know why the Kanalog Opto didn't work.

TK

Hi Tom,

Could it be that the opto inputs need 5v to pull it.

Yes the optos need 5V to turn on. But that doesn't explain the error you received.

Greetings,

I have a simple but frustrating problem. Any time I perform motion on KMotionCNC it will move on any axis with the on screen arrows. However as soon as I stop the motion the yellow feed hold button starts to blink. The only way to turn it off is to E-Stop and reinitiate.

I have unchecked all of the "Limit Switch Options" on the configuration screen for all of the axis. This doesnt seem to help at all.

Is there anything else that I could be missing?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

Are the any messages on the KMotion Console Screen?

Do you have Soft Limits Disabled by setting +/- Huge Values?

Could you post your Initialization C Program?

Regards

TK

Figured it out.. Knew it would be simple, but still took a few hours. I had the positive and negative soft limits reversed on one of the axis. Just didnt notice the negative signs when I was looking through.
